The Shanghai International Film Festival has announced the contenders in its Asian New Talent Award.
The ten films are Cast Me if You Can and Time Traveller from Japan; Crossing the Mountain and Lan from China; Goodbye Mom and The Executioner from Korea; Red Dragonflies from Singapore; The Legend is Alive from Vietnam; and The Pawnshop from the Philippines. A Singapore-Malaysia co-production, The Blue Mansion, was also selected.
The wide variety of genres and styles, from first- or second-time directors meets ANTA\'s goal, which is to seek and promote talented young Asians to stimulate regional vitality in filmmaking; to encourage multi-cultural presentation in Asian content and creativity; and to promote a new generation of Asian films internationally.
In an effort by 赌博app to encourage the young, there are two RMB150,000 cash prizes from ANTA for Best Film and Best Director. An international jury will decide the winners. Korean director Hur Jin-ho will lead the ANTA panel with members including Phil Agland, Ichiyama Shozo, Charlie Young, and Wanma Caidan.
ANTA\'s awards ceremony will be held June 18th, 2010.
