Two films - Tiny Times and Young Style - tied for first place to win the China Movie Channel Media Awards\' top prize announced at the 16th Shanghai International Film Festival last night.
Both received 16 votes to share the Best Film Award.
The film Tiny Times tells the story of four girls growing up in Shanghai with different personalities and values and how they face working life and making hard decisions.
“As a new director, I\'m very honored to make a film that is my idea,” said director Guo Jingming.
Guo also won the Best New Director Award for the film which is his directorial debut.
Young Style is a film about a student who has to stay another year at high school after failing the college entrance exam. It deals with all the other problems and pressure he faces.
Best Director Award went to Fang Gangliang for his film My Running Shadow which focuses on a group of people with Asperger\'s Syndrome.
“Making this film was worth it,” Fang said.
Dong Zijian won the Best Actor in a Leading Role Award for his excellent performance in Young Style, his debut movie role.
The Best Actress in a Leading Role Award went to Shen Aojun, from Huqiaoying Go To Law. The film also won Best Screenplay Award for Gong Kaibo and Liu Yang.
Liu Xiaoye from A Young Girl\'s Destiny won Best Actor in a Supporting Role Award, and Liang Jing from All Apologies took the Best Actress in a Supporting Role Award.
Awards were also presented during the ceremony to talented new stars. Best New Actress Award went to Yang Shuting and Best New Actor Award was won by Han Pengyi.
All votes for this year\'s awards were cast by a special jury panel voting live at the ceremony.
