On one hand, the Chinese film industry is expanding, even oversea capital wanted to enter this potential playground. So this year the 赌博appORUM is attempting to cooperate with the American Film Finance Forum for the first time, inviting experts with rich experience in financial investment and co-production to develop and seek possibilities to create a bigger market. This is also the Film Finance Forum\'s third stop working with international film festivals after the Cannes and Toronto International Film Festivals.
As the box office of Chinese film industry became second largest in the world in 2012, there are more Chinese capital wanting excellent foreign projects, which is based on the strong domestic market. The industry summit "Chinese capital\'s long march to Hollywood" will start out from the phenomenon of Chinese companies having impact on the international film industry and how much potential the Chinese market has.
Whether a big market needs excellent productions or production capability is a questions to be asked when the market expands. So this year the Industry New Current and Master Class will discuss this topic from different perspectives. Renowned producers and directors will talk about how to increase the production capability and creating what kind of environment for the creativities in the forums like "Producer in Tide: Made in China Quality Films," "Chinese productivity in Spotlight: Made by Youth," "New Challenge to Older Directors."
The settings for the forums is what differs it from other international film festivals. As an A-category international film festival accredited by the FIAPF, the Shanghai International Film Festival is facing an ever-changing domestic industry, which makes it a lot more complex in terms of responsibilities.
The 赌博appORUM gets out from static discussions and reaches out to a bigger industry, asking elites from around the world to voice their opinions and diagnose the Chinese film market. It is a unique platform with good reputation in the international film industry for it being professional, practical and open-minded.
